By the time "Party In The U.S.A." debuted at No. 2 – the highest U.S. singles debut of her career – Miley had reached a new level of superstardom. Between her hit Disney Channel series, "Hannah Montana," the 2009 box office smash "Hannah Montana: The Movie" and four straight No. 1 albums, she established … [Read More]herself as America's favorite young artist. Now, with the international release of her mini-album The Time of Our Lives, Miley targets the rest of planet Earth in a big way.

Miley calls The Time of Our Lives a "transition album" intended to "introduce people to what I want my next record to sound like." That means Miley is moving in a bold direction: rocking harder and singing with more conviction than ever before.

The CD opens with "Kicking and Screaming," a feisty rocker co-written by American Idol's Kara DioGuardi, and sung by Miley with full-throttle abandon. Meanwhile the single, "Party in the U.S.A.," took America by storm in 2009. Produced and co-written by Dr. Luke, the track was the No. 1 most added at American radio for three weeks running, becoming the fastest-breaking single in Hollywood Records' history, which eventually lead to Miley's first No. 1 at US Top 40 Radio (Oct 26, 2009) beating out competing songs by Beyonce and Lady GaGa. It shows Miley at her best: having fun, setting trends and rocking the mic.

Sixteen-year-old Miley has long shown a maturity beyond her years, evident on the ballads "When I Look at You" and "Obsessed," two songs that track love from fascination to fixation. The title song sums up Miley's happy reality as she reaps the rewards and counts the blessings of her life. The spirited up-tempo track "Talk is Cheap," is followed by "Before the Storm," a duet between Miley and Jonas Brothers, recorded live in concert last summer. It's a song that captures Miley in a familiar setting, surrounded by 20,000 screaming fans showering her with affection.

Not surprising for a girl who last year ranked on Time Magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the world. Born November 23, 1992, in Nashville, Miley grew up watching her father, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, in performance. Soon she caught the acting bug herself. After gaining experience as an extra in her dad's television projects, Miley acted opposite him in a recurring role on his television series, "Doc."

When a 12-year-old Miley first auditioned for the title role of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana," she was considered too young for the part, but that didn't stop her from pressing ahead. Two years later, Miley won the part she had worked so hard for, and her ascent to superstardom began. "Hannah Montana's" 2006 premiere season raked in some of the highest ratings ever for a Disney Channel original series.

In November 2006, the first "Hannah Montana" soundtrack came out, featuring eight songs performed by Miley as Hannah. Certified triple-platinum, the CD shot to the top of the American charts and became the first TV soundtrack ever to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200.

Then came her 2007 two-disc set, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. Miley co-wrote eight of the 10 tracks on that triple-platinum CD, setting the stage for a sold-out 2007 "Best of Both Worlds" tour. That led to the No. 1 Walt Disney Pictures 3D film, "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert."

For last year's No. 1 "Breakout," Miley co-wrote eight of the CD's songs and put her stamp on all aspects of production. She followed that with the platinum soundtrack CD Hannah Montana: The Movie. Once that CD hit the top of the charts, Miley became the youngest recording artist to achieve four No.1 albums on the Billboard Top 200 in less than three years. Similarly, her single, "The Climb," held the No. 1 spot at Mainstream AC for a record twelve weeks, and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Miley is also the best-selling author of Miles to Go, her first book that shares her inspiring story, spanning from her Southern roots in Tennessee to the excitement of her record-setting triumphs in TV, music and film.

On the acting front, Miley recently wrapped filming the Nicolas Sparks drama "The Last Song," an acting assignment that challenged her like no other. "It's just showing more of a side that I want to show," she says. "I love doing Hannah Montana, but I want to continue doing things that are a little bit more darker roles. I find most of my inspiration in movies like that." Next year she begins filming Season 4 of "Hannah Montana."

Having wrapped her 55-city 2009 North American tour, Miley is set to do the same overseas. Her fall 2009 U.K. tour sold out weeks in advance, the first time that has ever been done by a female artist touring Britain for the first time. Expanding her scope, Miley and designer Max Azria have teamed up to create Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, an apparel line which launched this year exclusively for Walmart.

Does it all sound like too much for a girl barely 17? Not even close, if you ask Miley. "I want to continue to do everything I can," she notes. "My dad always says, 'If you ain't having fun, it ain't working.' I'm having fun. I think I will forever do that."

She's not the only one having fun. Once fans around the world get their hands on "The Time of Our Lives," they'll have a party of their own when the Miley song comes on."[Less]
